Kathryn Scott is a respected Canberra artist who has taught art in the school system for over three decades and more recently, in the Fundamentals course at the Canberra Art Workshop. She currently attends a weekly life drawing group, is the convenor of a portrait art group, both at CAW, and maintains a continuing art practise from her studio. In 1996, Kate was awarded a Master of Letters in Art History and Curatorship from the ANU.

Mainly a painter in oils and acrylics, her picture-making is diverse in materials, methods and techniques, encompassing drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, sculpture and mixed media. While the subjects of her work include the human figure, portraiture, landscape and still life, the variety of approaches range from representational, expressionism, the metaphysical, symbolism to abstraction.

She has had two successful solo exhibitions, exhibits regularly in group shows with CAW, and her work is held in many private collections.
